Railways Urge Passengers not to Carry Inflammable Objects on Trains


In order to make train journey safer, the Ministry of Railways has urged passengers not to carry and also not let their co-passengers to carry inflammable objects while travelling on the trains. Travelling in trains with explosives and inflammable objects like crackers, gas cylinder, acid, petrol, kerosene, dry grass/leaves, thermic welding, sigri, stove etc is not permitted. Carrying such inflammable objects on the trains is a punishable offence under Section 164 of the Railway Act, 1989 where the offender may get an imprisonment upto 3 years, or a fine of Rs. 1,000/- or both and under Section 165 where a fine of Rs. 500/- is applicable.
