Threat of Terror Attacks

The Central Intelligence Agencies have no specific inputs indicating threat from Taliban. However, the available Intelligence inputs, indicate abiding interest of militant outfits like Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), Indian Mujahidin (IM), Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) to carry out acts of terrorist violence in India. There exists a very close and effective coordination amongst intelligence agencies at the Center and the State levels. Intelligence inputs about possible designs and threats are shared with the State Governments concerned on a regular basis. The Multi Agency Center (MAC) has been strengthened and re-organised to enable it to function on 24x7 basis for real time collation and sharing of intelligence with other intelligence agencies and security intelligence inputs are shared with the concerned States through the established mechanism, which ensures close coordination and sharing of intelligence and seamless flow of information between the States and Central Security and Law Enforcement Agency. This has resulted in busting of terrorist modules.

This was stated by Shri R.P.N.Singh, Minister of State in the Ministry of Home Affairs in written reply to a question by Dr.Sanjay Sinh, Shri R.Thamariselvan, Adv.A.Sampath, Dr.M.Jagannath, Shri P.C.Gaddigoudar, Shri Prataprao Ganpatrao Jadhao, Sh.Lalji Tandon, Shri K.P.Dhanapalan, Shri Pradeep Kumar Singh and Shri Anurag Singh Thakur in the Lok Sabha   on 11.12.12
