Publicity of Health Schemes in Urdu and Regional Languages


The Government has been publicising Health & Family Welfare Schemes in Urdu and respective regional languages in minority dominated areas. NRHM Newsletter is published in 10 languages including Urdu, Assamese, Punjabi, Kannada, Tamil, Oriya, Marathi, Bengali, English& Hindi. Folders on National Programmes are being brought out in Urdu, Hindi, English and other regional languages.

Spots on RCH/Non-RCH issues are being telecast through satellite channels, broadcast through FM channels and screened through digital cinema theatres in regional languages at prime time for high visibility. Spots on RCH issues were also telecast through satellite channels and through ETV Urdu for one month to update the information on facilities available to the minority dominated areas.

A half an hour dedicated health magazine programme, “Swasth Bharat/ArogyaBharatam” is telecast through 30 regional DoordarshanKendras and broadcast through 29 regional radio stations across the country. These programmes are telecast/Broadcast for 05 days a week in regional languages covering all the issues relating to health care and national disease control programmes.
