This was stated by Shri Piyush Goyal, Minister of State (IC) for
Power, Coal & New and Renewable Energy in a written reply to a question in
the Lok Sabha today. An independent study has been conducted by Energy
Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), for 5 locations in Puducherry and Andhra
Pradesh and the outcome is as follows:

The Minister further stated that the new States proposed to be
included in DELP are Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Karnataka and West Bengal. 20,122
MW of avoided capacity addition and 84 mt. of CO2 emissions are the
expected savings from the DELP programme on completion., the Minister added.
