Watan Ko Jano

A group of 200 students from J&K State on mission “Watan Ko Jano” sponsored jointly by Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India (Kashmir Cell) and State Rehabilitation Council Social Welfare Department, called on Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Hon’ble Minister for New and Renewable Energy at his official residence on 2nd March, 2013. The Hon’ble Minister had a detailed interaction with the students over lunch.

While pressing the move to expose young students to the outside world through “Watan Ko Jano” he expressed the hope that such programmes will henceforth form a regular feature. He exhorted the young students to follow the path of truth, righteousness and secularism. The minister emphasized the importance of secularism, communal harmony and nationalism. He also urged the students to care the environment and inculcate a spririt of love for nature and its resources and explained to them the nature and use of renewable energy and its increasing significance in the modern world.
