The Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Shri Prakash Javadekar today briefed the media that, he will chair the review meeting with Directors of six Indian Institute of Science Education Research tomorrow at IISER, Mohali (Punjab). The Union Minister will also be meeting with Vice Chancellors of Central Universities at Banaras Hindu University on 6th October 2016. The Union Minister also briefed that scheduled meeting with Vice Chancellors of Central Universities will focus on actions taken and proposed for improvement of quality in education, research, internal resource generation, infrastructure, student centric initiatives, e-governance initiatives.
The Union Minister has already held review meeting of with the apex bodies of IIITs, IITs and IIMs until now. He expressed satisfaction over such review exercise undertaken on priority basis, as this will help improving working of these institutions and understand challenges faced by institutions. The Union Minister said that such review process has been successful, as fruitful interactions had taken place. During this process the Minister interacted with students and faculty, received feedback for betterment for these institutions. Improving the quality and promoting research in these institutions has been underlying principal theme of reviewing all the central institutions.
