APGovt to set up innovation society, first of its kind in country





The state Cabinet decided to set up AP Innovation Society, first of it’s kind in the country with district chapters to develop innovative skills among students. The state cabinet met at CM camp office in Vijayawada on Friday.
The cabinet led by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu decided to set up innovation centres in schools and colleges. Incubation centres will be set up as start up policy to train the youth in data collection and biometric system. Innovation centres will be developed for each department.
The cabinet decided to start the classes of IIIT Ongole at RK Valley and for Srikakulam IIIT at Nuzvid IIIT premises from this academic year. The cabinet also decided to allot lands for SRM, VIT and Centurian universities.
The state cabinet decided to allot 86 acres at Veerapanenigudem in Krishna district for defence machinery manufacturing units to set up engineering cluster. 72 companies came forward to set up units at a cost of Rs 200 cr providing employment opportunities to 2000 youth.
The cabinet also decided to allot 4.20 acres of land to AP Vidya Vidhana Parishad to set up 300 bed hospital at Narasaraopet in Guntur district. The government allotted 45.27 acres of BELL company to establish test bed facility for rocket and weapon launching at Palasamudram in Anantapur district.
The cabinet approved creation of 527 posts to improve security system in Vijayawada city and 471 additional posts for Vijayawada police commissionerate.
The cabinet decided to acquire 1.05 lakh acres of land at Machilipatnam for deep water port and industrial corridor covering 420 sq km and 29 villages under land pooling system on par with CRDA land pooling system in Amaravati. The government decided to complete the land pooling within one year.
The state cabinet approved the proposal to increase wages of 15,745 out sourcing employees. The employees getting a minimum wage of 6,700 will get 12000 and maximum of Rs 11,500 will get Rs 17,500 maximum salary from August.
To encourage small and medium enterprises, the cabinet decided to 100 acres each in all assembly constituencies to set up MSME parks and so far identified 18,340 acres.
The minister said that the cabinet decided to sanction increments to engineers who successfully completed the Pattiseema lift irrigation scheme in record time. He said that the state government decided to complete the Polavaram project with the same spirit by 2018 by seeking funds from central government.
