DC (Handicrafts) inaugurates Lepakshi Heritage Collection Exhibition cum Sale
The
Lepakshi Exhibition-cum-Sale is a promotional programme intended to
help the craftspersons increase the sales of their products and thereby
improve their living conditions. Craftspersons, weavers and
manufacturers of artistic handicrafts and textiles from
different parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana exhibit and sell their
products in this exhibition. Items from other states are also added to
give a wider choice to craft lovers.

World-famous
Hyderabadi pearls; soft wood toys and dolls from Kondapalli, Etikoppaka and
Nirmal Village; carved wooden wall panels and statues from Tirupati; hand painting
of Srikalahasthi; Cherial and Nirmal Paintings; crochet lace work of Narsapur;
cotton durries and brass artware of Warangal; leather puppets and lamp shades
of Nimmala Kunta, artificial jewellery, metal castings and Bidriware from
Hyderabad.
The DC (Handicrafts) said that the Government is focussing on better coordination and stronger collaborations with state federations such as Lepakshi, in promoting designs and in helping artisans tap the fast-growing demand from domestic as well as export markets. She added that there are more than fifty crafts on display at the exhibition.

exhibition is being organized by Andhra Pradesh Handicrafts Development
Corporation Limited (an undertaking of the Government of Andhra
Pradesh), from September
3 - 14, 2015.
