Winter Session of Parliament Commencing on 22nd November 2012



The Winter Session, 2012 of Parliament (12th Session of Fifteenth Lok Sabha and the 227th Session of the Rajya Sabha) is scheduled to commence on Thursday, the 22nd of November, 2012 and subject to exigencies of Government Business, the Session will conclude on Thursday, the 20th of December, 2012.  The Session will provide 20 sittings spread over a period of 29 days.   
          The Session will mainly be devoted to essential Government legislative and other business, including financial business relating to Supplementary Demands for Grants for the year 2012-13 in respect of General Budget.
To finalise the Government Business for the Winter Session, 2012, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Shri Kamal Nath held a meeting with the Secretaries/Senior Officers of the various Ministries/Departments on Friday, the 16th of November, 2012. The Ministers of State in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs co-chaired the meeting.  Shri Kamal Nath addressed a Press Conference on the ensuing Winter Session of Parliament in New Delhi today. He said that the Government will attempt to arrive at political consensus on the business to be transacted during the coming session of the Parliament. The following Business is likely to be taken up during the 12th Session of Fifteenth Lok Sabha and the 227th  Session of the Rajya Sabha: -
