Bye-election to the Karnataka Legislative Council by the Members of Legislative Assembly

                  There is a casual vacancy in the Karnataka Legislative Council occurred due to the death of a sitting member Dr. V.S. Acharya, elected by the members of Legislative Assembly, on 14^th February, 2012, whose term of office was upto and including 30^th June, 2014.

2.                              The Commission has decided to hold a bye-election to the Karnataka Legislative Council by Members of Legislative Assembly to fill up the above said vacancy in accordance with the following programme: -

1.	Issue of Notifications	:	7th July, 2012 (Saturday)
2.	Last date of making nominations	:	14th July, 2012 ( Saturday)
3.	Scrutiny of nominations	:	16th July, 2012 (Monday)
4.	Last date for withdrawal of candidatures	:	18th July, 2012 (Wednesday)
5.	Date of poll	:	25th July, 2012( Wednesday)
6.	Hours of poll	:	9.00 A.M. to 4.00 P.M
7.	Counting of Votes	:	25th July, 2012(Wednesday) at 5 P.M.
8.	Date before which election shall be completed	:	26th July, 2012(Thursday)
